Tape Filth - FREE Cassette Synth Library for Kontakt
Tape Filth is a free sample library for the full Kontakt 8. It includes a collection of synth samples that were run through two different cassette players with very distinct characters: A RadioShack CTR-121 - which has a warm and warbly intimate quality, and a Sony BM-147 - which was used as early as 1982 as a courtroom transcriber and has a much more lo-fi sound.
The library has 4 recorded sound-sources: Fat, Fossilized, Blown, and Sawed.
The GUI includes sliders for ADSR as well as filter cutoff and resonance.
Two FX knobs are also included on the right-hand side of the instrument which control Reverb and Saturation.
On the bottom there is a switch for Mono, which is how it was originally recorded, and a switch to turn the Arpeggiator on.
On the second panel are controls for the arpeggiator, which includes Octaves, Rate, Pattern, Swing, Steps, and also a Velocity pattern sequencer.
Tape Filth is 923MB compressed and 1.05GB uncompressed on the hard drive.
The latest version of Kontakt - 8.3.0 - is needed. You need the FULL version of Kontakt to be able to use this library.

While this is a free library, any donation amount would be appreciated and helpful. This is my first library, and despite its small size, a lot went into it. Should you decide to pay any amount above $0, the money will go in to developing my next (much bigger) library. You will also receive a 50% voucher for whatever that library ends up being.
Thanks so much, and hope you enjoy!
